Suggest Remedy For Loose Motions In Infants

Hi Doctor, I have a 11 month old baby who is suffering from loose motions since the last 3 days. Our doctor has prescribed a Syrup Z & D (1 ml once a day for 14 days). Also due to the loose motions she has developed a mild red nappy rash, for which the doctor has prescribed an ointment Easy Nappy (as many times as possible). After 3 days of treatment i.e. dosages of the syrup & application of the ointment, there seems to be no improvement in the loose motions & the nappy area rash seems to have worsened. Note: My baby has been suffering from this starting from past 6 months. Also my baby is not on breast milk. She is having Nan 2 & (Rice+ Dal + Peas) + Water. Please let us know why she has been suffering from this infection from past 6 months . What do we do now ?

HI
Well come to HCM
Most of the diarrhea in pediatric age group are self limiting and does not need any treatment but hydration is of course matters, 3 to 4 stool in day would be normal, for the rash this can be managed with Diphenhydramine lotion every thing would be fine, take care.
