Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A couple of months ago I developed a small knot on the bend of my thumb. It became larger and painful. My thumb now looks swollen and I m starting to experience a slight pain in the middle, at the base of my palm, near my wrist. Any ideas? (I did not injure my thumb)

You may do hot water fomentation along with exercises. If it responds well and good otherwise injection depomedrol may be given at site of knot formation. Hope this helps . Take care
