Suggest Remedy For Large Painful Knot On Thumb

A couple of months ago I developed a small knot on the bend of my thumb. It became larger and painful. My thumb now looks swollen and I m starting to experience a slight pain in the middle, at the base of my palm, near my wrist. Any ideas? (I did not injure my thumb)

Hello
Thanks for posting
Based on your symptoms it looks to be trigger finger, a medical condition in which the finger/thumb gets locked on bending and open with a jerk.
You may do hot water fomentation along with exercises. If it responds well and good otherwise injection depomedrol may be given at site of knot formation.
Hope this helps .
Take care
