Suggest Remedy For Itchy, red Rash On Shin

I have an itchy red rash on my shin. It came after a quarter sized water blister broke and that came after a sore that took a long time to heal after I barked my shin on the car door. I saw the dermatologist who prescribed Fluocinonide two days ago. The rash is no better, but doesn t seem to be getting worse, either. Have I just not given the medication long enough to work?

welcome to healthcaremagic.com and myself Dr atishay Bukharia would be answering your questions

red rash with itching is most commonly suggestive of fungal infection while it can also be seen in Psoriasis. Psoriasis would have responded to steroid and in your case it is not responding to steroid which is suggestive of fungal infection.

hope it helps
