Suggest Remedy For Itchy Welts On Elbow Crook, Neck And Waist

I Seem To Have Areas That Itch .They Are Located In The Ben Of My Elbows, Around My Neck And Any Areas That Are Around My Waist. The Areas Welt Up And Itch. I Feel Like Something Is Crawling In That Area . I Have Taken Benedryl Over Thecounter. No Luck Thank You Dr Rynne Ruby@ YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for your question,

You seem to have a condition called Atopic dermatitis, its a condition where your immune system becomes overactive and attacks the body.

You would need more than benadryl to get over this. You need to take lukewarm baths and apply emollients or moisturizing creams after each bath to keep the skin wet. Also, steroid creams such as hydrocortisone cream is very important for the treatment of these rashes.

Finally, ensure you wash your clothes with mild detergents and without the use of bleaches.
