Hello Doctor Since 2 yrs I am noticing some problem with my hairs. I used to have healthy long hairs but i got a bad habbit of touching my hairs and gradually now pulling hairs. Initially it got itchy scalp, and dandruff. noticed oily scalp after 2 days of shampoo, now i find my hairs not smooth, it is thick n thin and brt brittle too. frm front scalp is bit visible the hairs are less on frnt centre and same area it itches alot which make me touch my hairs n pull hairs full day. please advise
You seem to have seborrheic dermatitis of scalp with scalp prurigo and bad habit of pulling the hairs..telogen effluvium. You may be anxious by nature. You just be calm and cool. Avoid bad habit of pulling the hairs. Ketoconazole shampoo like scalpe may be used daily till good result. Antihistaminics like levocetirizine may be taken till itch is relieved. Apply mild steroid lotion like mometasone lotion. Take proper diet and have enough sleep. Anxiolytic drugs like fluoxetin 10 mg may be taken till anxiety is reduced.yours may be alright. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
