Suggest Remedy For Itching

My husband takes allopurinol 150 mg for gout but has developed itching on the tips of his ears, his nipples , his scrotum and somewhat his penis. He also has kidney disease but no other disease, doesn t drink nor smoke nor any history of any other health problem. The kidney disease is from a congenital problem. Takes blood pressure med. is the itching related to the gout med?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi

Sudden development of itchy after starting any new drug could be suggestive of an allergic reaction to the drug .
Although sudden itchy could be suggestive of various pathologies, but it is always good to rule out s drug reaction .
So I would advise you to see your treating doctor and get a proper assessment done .
In the meantime ,you can take some antihistamines.
