Suggest Remedy For Intermittent Chest Pain And High BP

I have been suffering from intermittent chest pain for over 6 months. I have had countless ekg s, cardio stress tests and a cardio catheterization...all tests were negative for cardiac blockages. I take losartan for BP and methimazole for fast thyroid. I monitor my BP and pulse 4-6 times daily. BP is always around 140/80 and pulse is always too high at 90 s to 105. I tried mild walking to exercise but the chest pain intensifies too much as does the left arm throbbing. My cardiologist is baffled and can t seem to resolve. My GP is stumped and wants me to take anxiety meds. I will not. My endocrinologist does nothing. I am female, age 60 and currently not working so stress is minimal. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for me?

Hi! Normal ekg, stress test and angiography have ruled out the coronary artery disease as the reason for your chest pain. The most common cause of a non-cardiac chest pain is gastro-esophageal reflux disease. I'd suggest an upper GI endoscopy to rule out reflux. If I were your doctor, I'd also consider a betablocker like metoprolol for your BP, as it'd also keep the heart rate in check in hyperthyroid condition. If reflux is ruled out and the symptoms persist after betablockers, I'd also consider anxiety relieving medicines. Trust this answers your question.
