Suggest Remedy For Insomnia With Nausea And Hunger

I was prescribed doxycycline, took initial dose and one other. Experienced nausea, thirst, hunger and some dizziness and also insomnia. It's been 36 hours since the last dose and still feeling the effects. How long til this stops? Is there anything I can do to speed the process?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

All medications have potential side effects that may or may not occur.

Most antibiotics are particularly associated with gastrointestinal side effects such as the nausea that you mentioned.

The half life of a drug is the time it takes for the amount of drug in the system to decrease by half.
It takes 3 to 4 half lives for a drug to be mostly eliminated.

The half life of doxycycline is 18 to 22 hours. This means that it should be most eliminated in 54 to 88 hours (2 to almost 4 days).

I hope this helps
