my 4 year old son has been complaining of a headache for 2 days and has been very lethargic for most of that time. He's very warm and pale and is sleeping all time, He was up most of the night vomiting and upset as his head was hurting so much, he won't eat but will drink a little and tells me that the light is hurting his head, could this be a migraine and what can i do to make him feel better many thanks Emma

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi..Is your child able to describe the throbbing quality of headache? If yes, then migraine can be thought of as a possibility. How are the diet habits, you mentioned that the child is pale. So anemia itself can also cause headache and lethargy. As there is no high grade fever and it being a acute history with a not so toxic looking child, headache photophobia and vomitting may not suggest meningitis in this case. Still I would advice you to follow up with a pediatrician so that detail examination is done.
