Suggest Remedy For Foul Smelling Stool
hi, my baby is 5 months old and her stool has a pungent smell and the consistency of peanut butter some, and some is runny. Her perineal area is red and irritated because of it. She breast feeds and I started her on cereal one week ago. Before I put on cereal her stool was lvery runny and had big spots of mucus in it. Is this ok? Thank you

Foul smelling stools at that age may be due to giardiasis.
Metronidazole is the drug of choice.
