Suggest Remedy For Excessive Sweating

I have been taking metoprolol for several years now. In the past year I have also been taking metformin for diabetes type 2. I have been having issues with excessive sweating especially when it is hot outside. Could this be a side effect of one of the medicines, or from a combination of the medicines?

Hello,

Sweating is documented to be a side effect of both Metoprolol and Metformin. If there was no sweating before Metformin was added the sweating is probably due to Metformin. You should also check your blood sugar during one of these episodes of sweating to know whether it is related a low blood sugar. Metformin is a very good nedicine for diabetes with several other health benefits. If you are not able to tolerate the sweating, you could discuss the problem with your doctor and request a change of medication for diabetes.
I am available to answer further queries if any.
