Suggest Remedy For Enlarged Left Tonsil With Feeling Of Blocked Throat

Hi. I had sore throat a week ago when I woke up. I checked myself and found my left tonsil was swollen and also had some white spots. (My right tonsil is good though).I thought I just had tonsillitis, because I also had periodical fever. I took amoxicillin and Advil for 2 days. The symptoms went away. But today, I start to have pain on the left tonsil while swallowing. And also have the sensation of somethings stuck on my throat. I checked again and found out my left tonsil is enlarged(no white spots this time). Right tonsil is still good. I googled online and start to concern if I have tonsil cancer. What should I do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of enlarged left tonsil with feeling of blocked throat which seems to be due to bacterial infection which is leading to tonsillitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin for 5 days. You should take antiallergic medication. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get examination of tonsils done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
