Suggest Remedy For Ear Infection

My daughter is 22mths old and for the last 2 weeks has been waking up at night and seems to be in pain. The last 3 days there has been a foul smelling discharge from her ear which leaves a yellow stain on the sheet. I took her to a GP who said there was no ear infection, only a little fluid on the ear. She prescribed an anti-inflammatory. Emily still seems to be uncomfortable at night and there is still a smelly discharge. Should I get a second opinion?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Yes, you should consult an ENT Surgeon.
The typical getting up of a child is a classical sign of an enlarged adenoid ( behind the nose and where the ear tubes are located).
Because of infection and enlargement the baby get an ear infection.
The baby needs an additional antibiotic and decongestant medicines.
