Suggest Remedy For Diarrhea And Vomitting

Our grandchildren have had symptoms of fever diarrhea, and vomiting for about 2 months now. It cycles every few weeks or so. Our daughter said she caught the raccoons in the kids swimming pool, yikes! they also have a boat and motorhome they travel in a lot. Could it be a water born bacteria? Their Doc. tested for parasites but I had one years ago and was told you have to get samples for 30 days as they only show up in stools when their life cycle ends while new ones are growing. We are all very concerned, the youngest is only 8 months.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your grandchildren have symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting which seems to be due to electrolyte imbalance in body. It seems to be due to water borne infection and allergic reaction to certain food contents. Need not to worry. I would suggest you not to panic at all. You should start treatment with combination of fluroquinolones and ornidazole.You should get intravenous fluid administration as well. Avoid taking Domperidone. you should avoid taking dairy products in excess. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food.You can take banana on daily basis and light food. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate yourself. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment after prescription.
