Suggest Remedy For Depression And Mood Swings Due To Cerazzete

Hi, Im 20 and on Cerazette to stop my periods as they have always been too irregular to deal with. I cant take to combined pill because I get migraines and am on Betablockers to stop this. But with the cerazette I am getting really bad mood swings and feel depressed some of the time. Should I go on antidepressants?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for posting your query.
Was any examination or tests done to determine the cause of your irregular periods? If you are overweight / obese, it may be due to a Polycystic Ovary Syndome (PCOS). This is treatable with weight loss and simple non hormonal medicines which correct insulin resistance, the cause of PCOS.
It would be healthier than producing symptomatic cyclical bleeding which does not correct the problem and take more medicines to treat the adverse effects produced by these hormonal tablets.
If you have more queries, I shall be happy to give my opinion.
Take Care,
Dr. Noble Zachariah
