Suggest Remedy For Dark Patches On Face

Hello doctor.. Last night i applied raw garlic on my pimple for about 5mins,i felt a very strong sensation so i washed it off with normal water.. And after a few hours it turned into black patches.. What to do now? I am very much worried ?? Will it leave scars for long ?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that black spot after applying garlic over the pimple has caused chemical burn over the face causing post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and at times it can take a long time to resolve and can take even 6 months for resolution..

Treatment that can be done is a combination of topical depigmentation creams and certain techniques..
You can start washing your face with Salicylic acid and glycolic acid containing facewash..
You can apply creams containing Kojic acid, glycolic acid and arbutin..
Vitamin E and C containing creams can help..
Creams that are rich in licorice extract and grapeseed extract can be helpful..
Always apply a sunscreen lotion to reduce photosensitivity effect..
You should exfoliate your skin twice a week with a gentle face scrub..
Treatments like chemical peeling, Photofacial, Microdermabrasion, dermal rollers etc can be helpful..
