Brief answer :
Nasal block or wheezing episodes

Detailed answer :
Hi, welcome to HCM.
Your child is having only mild cough but has intermittent respiration, this could be due to nasal block or a wheezing episode. In nasal block, sometimes the respiration becomes intermittent as child tries to clear the nose. In wheezing episodes there is difficulty in breathing which causes intermittent breathing.
In my opinion, you should start saline nasal drops 1 drop in each nostril three times a day and get the chest examined by a Pediatrician.
I hope this will help you. Take care.
