Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi im 26 and female about four years ago I had an issue with pain when passing stools and rectal bleeding which went away of its own accord after about a month or so. It is back but in the last three weeks I have gone from lose stools to normal and now it feels like my stool is stuck. I m afraid to push too hard because it s very painful but I m only getting very small amounts when I try to go. I can feel it there and it s very uncomfortable. What should I do ??
I can understand your concern for GI symptoms. Your symptoms are associated with anal fissure in which there will be linear tear on inner wall of lower part of anal canal. Hard stool, excessive straining to pass stool are risk factors for it. Anal fissure can cause pain around anus and occasional episodes of bleeding while straining.
Treatment consist of stool softener or laxatives, analgesic medication for pain, anesthetic drug ointment for local application. You should avoid use of enema or suppository for constipation in presence of anal fissure.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any further doubts, I would be happy to help you.
Regards, Dr. Happykumar Kagathara
