Suggest Remedy For Constipation

I have a hemorrhoid and I have been taking laxatives for the last 3 or 4 days in order to defecate. I have some stool at my rectum right now but it won't come out. I think this is because I have only had 2 bowls of oatmeal and there is not enough stool to stimulate peristalsis. It also maybe due to the fact that my rectal muscles have become dependent on laxatives to defecate. Should I wait for more stool to gather by eating more or should I use. laxative to get whatever little is there out?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
In most cases lifestyle changes and diet are sufficient for improvement. It means : To make your poo softer and easier to pass: drink plenty of fluids and avoid alcohol, increase the fibre in your diet, add some wheat bran to your diet. Good fiber sources include bran and other whole grains found in cereals, breads, and brown rice, vegetables such as brussels sprouts, carrots, and asparagus, Fresh fruits, or dried fruits such as raisins, apricots, and prunes Beans. If there is no improvement then constipation may be caused by several issue. Second, you may at times need to try a laxative such as Fleet Phospho-Soda, Milk of Magnesia, or glycerin suppositories. If there wont be improvement on these measures, you should consider doing diagnostic tests such as colonoscopy, anal sphincter manometry and food allergy testing. In some cases it may be also sign of inflammatory bowel diseases tumors so it should be ruled out if symptoms persist.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
