Suggest Remedy For Constipation And Abdominal Bloating Post Hysterectomy

I had a hysterectomy and bladder suspension in May, 2015. I had already gone through menopause. Since the surgery, I have become very bloated around the middle with a lot of belly fat. I still have the same exercise regime (body pump, treadmill and walking outside), eat basically the same diet to no avail. I also have ulcerative colitis which is under control (I think). I can t get an appointment with the urologist for a few more weeks and am very uncomfortable. I have constipation and bloating on a daily basis and only go if I take a Ducolax, which I don t want to keep doing. Help!

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of hysterectomy in May and have through menopause. There is bloating and constipation which is relieved with Dulcolax, this means it is a problem with bowel motility and evacuation and is fully treatable.
Yo also have belly fat increase in spite of the same regimen of exercises and eating. This may be related to the hormonal changes.
I would advise you to consult the general Surgeon and not the Urologist for clinical evaluation, examination and further management.
It is good to know that your ulcerative colitis is under control.
Continue taking Dulcolax or other laxative.
Avoid all the foods, beverages and habits that cause you bloating and constipation.
Take only those foods and beverages that you are comfortable with.
No stress or anxiety
