Suggest Remedy For Chronic Pain In The Hip

12 year old son with hip pain. MRI shows nothing, Dr questioned if he was pretending... His blood work shows immature granulocyte of .4....WBC is 7.73 (a week ago it was 5.5) and absolute lym is 3.4. Should I be concerned? What type of follow up, if any, is warranted? Recently diagnosed with duodenal ulcer and is responding to meds for that. Hip pain has been present but recently worsened.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Cause of chronic hip pain needs to be found out for further treatment.
A clinical assessment by an orthopedician is required.
Relevant investigations in the form of X-ray and MRI is also required.
These imaging studies will determine the status of joint space, joint surfaces and surrounding muscles, ligaments, tendons and cartilages.
Pain in the hip is due to involvement of any one of these structures.
A drug history is also required because certain drugs especially steroids lead to damage to joint if there is chronic use.
Duodenal ulcer has to be managed with drugs- proton pump inhibitor and ulcer healing drugs.
The blood cunts are within normal range and presence of few immature cells on peripheral blood are suggestive of infection.
Duodenal ulcer can be the probable cause of presence of immature cells on peripheral blood.

Thanks and take care
