Hi i'm here regarding my brohter who is a chronic alcoholic. he has been drinking for the past four or five years now and does so every day. mostly in the mornings around 11 or 12. and drinks each time he manages to get some cash. what do I do about this. it is really wrecking my life trying to keep track of him everyday. The doctors we consulted said he is depressed. nothing seems to help.
Hello Welcome here. I can understand the stress which you are facing due to alcoholism of your brother. I think the best management in this case would be a residential de-addiction program. You should consult a de-addiction centre near your area which is a registered one and managed by a de-addiction specialist/psychiatrist. Consult them for your brother's admission for de-addiction management there. He would require some medications to prevent alcohol withdrawal and psychological treatments like motivation enhancement therapy and cognitive therapies. Hope this helps you. Thanks.
