Suggest Remedy For Bruised And Swollen Finger Post Heavy Lifts

I was at the gym today and we were doing heavy deadlifts. there was no specific event where i hurt my finger but afterwards, my middle finger was bruised from the knuckle to the fingertip and it s a little swollen. the bruise is on the palm side of the finger and literally cuts off at the knuckle. any thoughts?

Hii ,

Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here

it is very likely that you have injured your finger during workout though u might not notice during intense weight lifting

Swelling and Bruise may be the result of hematoma (localized collection of Blood and Fluid below the skin of injured area) and you should apply heat packs on the affected area , along with this u can take over the counter anti inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen to relieve pain and swelling , apart from this keep ur injured finger at rest, you can also do over the counter Diclofenac spray directly over affected area to get relief from pain

But if ur finger does not improve within 3-4 days and you pain get even worse than immediately see a orthopedic surgeon to rule out any possible fracture

I hope it help
