General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

DVT usually recanalize on itself after sometime but the sequelae like Varicose vein or ulcer in legs might appear. Secondly with such a high INR and proper perioperative precution a second DVT with surgery is unlikely. If Surgery is unavoidable I think you should proceed with Surgery considering a benefit risk ratio. Few precautions which can be taken perioperative is preop Heparinization, intra op pneumatic pumping of calf muscle, DVT stocking and early ambulation of patient.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Safarulla SH
