Suggest Remedy For Black Floaters Post Cataract Operation

It is around three years after my cataract operation and now black spots (floaters) appear on and off. I never had any problems before. I have blood pressure, chlorestral and glucoma but these diseases are under control. I am 62 years old and have an annual eye check up as well. I have been having these black spots for the last two weeks. Look forward to your advise. I am 5'6"

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having symptoms of black floaters.
These are not related to cataract operation.
These are because of degenerations in the vitreous. The common causes are age related degenerations.
Most if floatrrs are benign and does not require treatment.
However sudden onset of clusters or increase in floaters require eye examination to rule out retinal problems like retinal thinning, peripheral retinal degenerations...
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination.

Thank you
