Suggest Remedy For Allergic Asthma With Dizziness

I have allergies and asthma. Back in September my doctor said she thought dizziness due to allergies. Gave me meclizine. It seems to be everyday not as severe as when I went to see her. Slight swaying sensation mild pressure headache across forehead. I was also started on a birth control pill at end of August to replace medicine to control my endometriosis. I don t want to have to go to another doctor, but this is annoying as I teach school.

Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for you as follows:

1. As there are many causes for dizziness, I would like to know more about your complaints, medications, overall health, investigations, etc etc.

2. As you have headache and allergies also, I would first think of dizziness related to problem in middle ear which occurs due to long standing nose obstruction/sinusitis, etc.

I usually suggest my such patients regular treatment of allergic rhinitis with levocetirizine + montelukast OR intranasal corticosteroids along with regular steam inhalation which improves nose congestion and relieves sinuses.

However, an ENT consultation is necessary for confirming the diagnosis. More details about your nose and ear symptoms would have helped better.

3. Dizziness could be some simple reasons, unrelated to allergies, such as nutrition deficiencies, low hemoglobin, stress, anxiety, inadequate hydration/water intake, etc etc.

Depending upon cause, nutritional supplements (for nutrient deficiencies), iron-folic acid-vit B12 (for low hemoglobin), relaxation & meditation (for stress/anxiety), ensuring adequate liquids during day, etc would help.

Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish you the best of the health ahead.

Thank you & Regards.
