Suggest Remedy For Abrasion Of Gums From Removal Denture
I have been using a badly designed removable partial denture for my lower lower
for about 10 days. After it became too painful, I have stopped useing it. However,
the denture has caused abrasion and ulceration. What should I do? Can this short
usage cause oral cancer?

Hi Dear,
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have abrasion of gums from badly designed removable denture which caused continuous irritation in your gums area and leads to keratosis and ulceration. Need not to painic about it as it not any type of cancer as such a short term usage cannot be the cause of cancer. Its mild soft tissue irritation. I would suggest you to apply Dologel on finger and rub over ulcerated area three times a day and rub for around 5-7 mins. Maintain proper oral hygiene to prevent debris accumulation. Do betadine gargles and brush and floss daily. Apply ice cubes on ulcerated area. For pain reduction take Ibuprofen. Apply anesthetic patches over ulcerated area for faster relief. Visit dentist once and get it examined if it will take time to heal as some times symptoms got exaggerated. Get new prosthodontics or get the previous one repaired. Get soft tissue pressure relieved in new denture to prevent further injury.
