Our son is 14 and very has always been very healthy. Last Monday he contracted the stomach virus with vomiting and diarrhea. On Wednesday he started to vomit green color bile. On Friday we went back to physician for vomiting the bile still and lots of abdominal pain, who sent us to hospital for x ray and iv fluids for dehydration. We were sent home with a dx of stomach virus and dehydration. We were then called by family Dr who sent us to have a cat scan done with contrast and enema one as well. We were then called by family Dr who said radiologist called and said their was air him his abdomen and we were to go to the our local Children's Hospital. Where they proceeded to tell us there was no air in his abdomen and that he was constipated. We now our on a week of this illness and no answers. He has not vomited bile since Saturday and the diarrhea has stopped, but he ran an 102.0 temp on and off yesterday with increased abdominal pain. How can one hospital say there was air in his abdomen and another one say no there is not? What does it mean to have air in the abdomen? We are totally confused and not sure if we should let this ride it course or continue for answers.
