Suggest Remedy For A High Snoring Problem

Dear Doctor I am 60 years old. I have been experiencing high snoring for many years. It is told that I will be struggling to breath in sleep and burst out with body shake. I have always felt sleepy during the day. Recently I felt these symptoms at night more and had head ache as I wake up. With forceful deep breathing head ache will subside. I had a CT scan - CT PNS done recently. The impression noted by the radiologist is as under: 1. Mild DNS towards the left 2. Bilateral Concha bullosa seen Do the above contribute to my breathing as well as snoring problem? Do I require a surgery ? Do you suggest any other procedure. Thanks R.K.Nair

snoring can be a symptom of Obstructive sleep apnea. the main factors contributing are obesity, alcohol , smoking, nasal anatomical & pathological conditions, short neck, micrognathia, tonsils( upper airway obstruction). so rule out these conditions first & get a polysomnography/ Sleep study done ( 22 channels). the treatment includes surgical correction of airways, BIPAP usage after titration by PSG.
