Hi, I ve been encountering numerous eyelid infections as described here, I think causes from my new dog (as I ve never had these infections prior). Most have escaped/drained through the middle part of my upper eyelids (had three inefections here, looking like Rocky punched me!) rather than the eyelash area like a normal stye. I ve taken to using lid-care towelettes 2-3 times per week to try to avoid having these outbreaks.... This past Sunday (4 days ago) I started getting that familiar swelling again, but this time its in my lower eyelid which is a first for me. I ve been using hot compresses, occasional qu-tip massages, using lid-care towelettes 3-5 times a day. Last night I flipped my eyelid down and can see the white abcess and can see its draining because I end up with gunk in my eye. Today I now see a small area on the edge of my eyelid where the eyelash exits. Is there any other type of maintenance I can do to speed the draining and get this heeled up better? Anything to lower the swelling (IE: Benydryl, Advil , etc???) I ve asked for a refferal from my family doctor to see an Ophthalmologist.
