Suggest Remedies For Spreading Itch, Pain And Swelling In Leg Post An Insect Bite

I was bitten this morning by something that started out itching and small like a mosquito bite. As hours progressed my upper outside part of my leg where it began is swelling and very warm and itchy and goes now from my but to my knee. And really itches and seems now to be spreading on the top part of my leg. It also hurts because of the swelling.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You seem to be having a severe allergic reaction to the bite.

You may want to consider the use of anti inflammatory pain medication along with anti histamines.
The anti inflammatory medications would help to reduce the body's inflammatory response eg naproxen, cataflam, ibuprofen etc

Both of these medications would be over the counter.

If there is no improvement then you may need a short course of oral steroids.

I hope this helps
