Suggest Remedies For Insomnia And Hair Loss While Treating An Underactive Thyroid

Hi I have an underactive thyroid but my TSH level on Oroxine is 18.4 and my TSH level is 4.5 which are ok. However, my Anti-thyroglobulin Ab is high at 201. Could this be the reason I still have symptoms of an underactive thryoid? ie insomnia, hair loss, cold intolerance, wrist and hand pain, brain fog, weight gain. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic ....

Brain fog , insomnia , weight gain etc are classical symptoms of hypothyroidism that you are having ......

Antithyroglobulin ab positive , so you can have hashimoto thyroiditis leading hypothyroidism....
For hypothyroid levothyroxin drug needed regularly ....
Dose adjusted according to TSH level...

In hashimoto thyroiditis usually desired tsh level is below 3 ....so if needed dose can be increased ....

With maintainence of tsh level below 3 , you will improve gradually ....

Take care

Advise : Endocrinologist consultation for examination and further discussion.....
