Hi...I get hot flushes..especially in the morning or whenever getting ready to go somewhere...my doctor says it s not a (peri)menopause symptom and I ve been tested for thyroid problems. She believes it has to do with my raised adrenaline at those time and she gave me propanolol but it hasn t worked yet. Any other treatments?
Hello, Thanks for writing to us. If hormones have been excluded as the cause of the hot flushes, natural remedies can be tried. Please report the matter to your consultant and plan further management. Meditation, breathing exercises or 'Pranayama', use of cotton garments that are loose-fitting, making the surroundings comfortable, use of soya products, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables are useful to control the hot flushes. Hope this helps.
