Suggest Remedies For Excessive Post Nasal Drip, Cough And Raw Throat
I am having trouble with massive amounts of post nasel drip - it has my throat so raw that I am gagging and coughing . It will die down then start with some sneezing and then lots of coughing due to all the phlegm in my throat- I have several nose sprays and I take over the counter mess on and off but nothing seems to stop it and if it does it isn't for to long them it starts all over again. I've been to EN&T docs - tested for allergies but I don't show that I am allergic to anything - ugh

As per your complain drainage down the throat also known as Post nasal drip can occur due to causes like Sinusitis, Upper Respiratory Tract infection, acid reflux, and allergies. I would suggest you to consult an otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS View x ray, nasal endoscopy, upper G.I Endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. In case of infection you can be advised to take a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller, decongestants oral as well as nasal spray, anti allergics and mucolytics.
As of now you can take anti-allergics like Levocetrizine, Mucolytics like Ambroxol. If it is due to acid reflux antacids and proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole and diet modifications can be advised. In case of allergies anti-allergics and preventing exposure to allergen can be advised.
Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations. Limit exposure to dust and also avoid chilled foods. Sip on warm water.
