HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

E coli is a bacteria that is commonly found in the gastrointestinal tract.

The infection normally runs its course. The important part of treatment would include: (1) fluid management to prevent dehydration

You need to replace the fluids lost. The best fluids to use would be oral rehydration solutions or gatorade.

(2) consider the use of probiotics. This would help to replace the normal bacteria in the intestine and would also help to shorten the course of the diarrhoea.

(3)avoid solid food for at least 24 hours till the symptoms resolve. Using solid food when the intestine is not ready would only aggravate the symptoms

(4) you need to pay attention to your blood sugars. You may need to alter your medications. Consult your doctor regarding any changes

I hope this helps,
