Suggest Remedies For Ankle Joint Pain Occurring Near An Old Fracture Site

I have a sudden onset of pain in in the top of my food near the ankle joint . The ankle itself does not hurt just the crease in my foot. I have had a small fracture of the navicular bone about 8 years ago. Is it possible that this is a recurrence of a fracture? or could it be something else?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have ankle joint pain occurring near an old fracture site . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like Lymphedema , taking certain antidepressants , such as tricyclics , taking certain blood pressure medications , organ failure like heart, liver, or kidney , pericarditis or cirrhosis . There can also be post operative complication . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper checkup . Doctor may order ECG , liver and kidney function test . Doctor may refer you to cardiologist for heart problem , nephrologist for kidney failure or to gastroenterologist for liver . For now lower the salt consumption and keep your legs elevated while lying down . Sometimes infection occur at fracture site which can cause such problem .
