Suggest Remedies For An Infected Cuticle In Big Toe

My friend has a punctured cuticle that s been infected on their big toe, and it is filled with pus. The color is pale yellow-green, but they ve kept it uncovered and without a bandaid unless necessary. Should they try and squeeze out all of the pus and cover it, or let it be?
