Suggest Remedies For Allergic Reaction Towards Vitamin C

Hello: My 85 year old mother says she is allergic to Vitamin C. When she consumes it, whether it is in any form, or high vitamin C foods, she says she itches real bad, all over. I just came upon information about how Vitamin C is very good. Is there something we can do to alleviate that allergy, so she could consume vitamin C for improving her health?? Thanks for any information you can provide. Malcolm S Knox

Hello,
True allergy to vitamin C is extremely rare. However she may be very sensitive to some ingredient in the vitamin C tablets. Most people do not need to take extra vitamin C if they eat a well balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Make sure she eats a healthy diet and perhaps takes a multivitamin daily but don't worry if she cannot tolerate vitamin C tablets
Regards
