Suggest Remedies For Allergic Reaction For Reflux Medication

I received a new medication for reflux that I m allergic to. I got a rash on my chest, arms, neck and top of my thighs. I took a Benedryl yesterday morning. Last night I took two more with lots of water. I woke up because my throat feels tight. I don t know if it s because it is soooo dry or what.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic.
I understand your concern.
To control allergy to the drug given-- you should stop the drug immediately & consult your treating doctor for change of drug as well as management of allergy.
Excess of anti allergic tends to cause dry skin & mouth.
If reflux is along with acidity( burning of stomach ).. you may need injectable anti allergic , so take medication after a doctor's advise only.
Till then, you can use local steroid ointment to ease the problem.
Thanks
