The first steps to be taken after the diagnosis of ovarian cancer is to ascertain its stage. That can be done by doing a CT scan of the abdomen and a chest x-ray. If it is early ovarian cancer (disease limited to ovaries and surrounding structures, stage I/II), then she should first undergo surgery and then if required, chemotherapy. for advanced cancer (stage III/IV), she needs to undergo chemotherapy first and then surgery. Adyar is a good institute except that they have a long waiting list for surgery. You can take a second opinion at Apollo chennai or you can mail me your reports to pranjal7088@gmail.com and i will be happy to assist you.
