Suggest Precautionary Measures To Avoid Pregnancy
Hi there, Im 19 and have been dating a guy for a year and im thinking im ready for sex. I am very worried about getting pregnant though. I am on the pill and we will use condoms. Is this all the precautions we can use and what are the chances of getting pregnant while on the pill and using condoms? I also dont take my pill at the same time every day should i start doing that so its more effective?

It is very good that you are using 2 forms of protection as this keeps the risk of pregnancy to the bare minimum. The risk of pregnancy on while you are on the pill is about 0.5 percent and while using condoms is 1-3 percent. If both are used the risk drops to 0.05 percent.
If you take the pill at the same time it becomes more of routine and hence the lesser chance of you ever missing it. Some other precautions relate to condom use
1) Condoms are single use only.
2)Never use teeth to open a packet as this may cause abrasions on surface of the condo leading to higher chance of rupture.
3) If you are using lubricants or any oil based lotions condoms degrade faster so buy higher numbers in packs.
4) Stay responsible and have a fulfilling life
