Suggest Methods To Control T3 & T4 Levels

My wife's age is 32 and she weighs 69kgs. Recent tests indicated that her T3 and T4 levels are just below the lower end of the normal range. Her TSH seems to be too high(90 in one test and 150 in another test) from the normal upper limit. what type of treatment should she go at this stage to bring T3 & T4 at the normal range.

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,
She is suffering from hypothyroidism. Her thyroid gland is not producing enough thyroid hormones. The treatment of this condition is thyroid hormone replacement. You may consult a physician / Endocrinologist and he will prescribe that. Additional tests that I will do in this situation is anti thyroid antibodies to determine the cause of it and an ultrasound of thyroid.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

With warm regards,
Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM)
Consultant Endocrinologist.
