Suggest Medicine For Sore Throat

I have had a sore throat on and off for several weeks. I went to a walk-in clinic and received an antibiotic, can t remember the name but it began with a C. I thought my sore throat was subsiding - didn t have it yesterday, but this morning it is raging!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore throat which seems to be due to infection of upper respiratory tract like strep throat or viral pharyngitis .

I would suggest you to avoid eating spicy and heavy food. Do warm saline gargles several times a day or betadine gargles . You should take combination of levocetrizine along with amoxicillin for 3-5 days.

If condition doesn't get better then visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should go for blood and sputum test.

Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Milk boiled with a pinch of turmeric taken at bedtime will be helpful. Also avoid cold beverages .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
