Suggest Medicine For Depression And ADD

Hi, my 60 year old brother, with no health care, is coming to visit for christmas. I have arranged a one time deal to get him a physical while he is here as he has no health insurance. This is my gift to him. There are a couple things going on with him. He has hypertension (we all do ....thank you mom) He is not obese. He also, in my opinion, suffers from depression and ADD. He is quite brilliant but he gets so sidetracked...it is debilitating. There is an OCD and borderline hoarding problem with him. He is a struggling attorney. My thoughs are to get the BP under control first. Then the depression and mental issues under control. If he can get that under control he may have better thought processes and do better at work. And actually give a darn about his health, because right now he doesnt. So my question is what meds? Preferably meds on the walmart $4/mo formulary. Lisinopril and atenolol are out due to side effects (cough etc) Cozaar works but is too expensive. How about the mental health meds?

Hi
When depresson and other comorbid medical condition present togethet than qution requried to choose medication. In this case hypertrnsion is comorbid with depression and both require treatment. Once BP is undercontrol than we will go for anti depression. Best drug is SSRI among them serteraline is the best in case of medical comorbidity. Serteraline 50 mg in morning al9ng with antihypertensive medication will definetly help. Aprt from this daily exercise and meditation also useful.
Thanks
