Suggest Medications For Short-term Memory And Dizziness From Concussions

Hello, I have questions about concussions. My husband had 3 concussions so far. All of these being 6 months within each other. He suffers from short term memory loss(forgetting where he put his toothbrush, forgetting where he put his keys at times, completely forgetting events, etc) ,seeing spots ,mood swings, and he ll have these dizzy spells. The dizzy spells are what I m most concerned about because it completely affects his ability to do anything. His eyes will roll to the back of his head, and he ll just mumble. He has light sensitivity after the concussions, and it just seems like it s getting worse . What actions should be taken ? There was medication given to him for his headaches, but he s stubborn about it and does not want to take it . He ll stay up all night , and stare at the tv knowing he s sensitive to the light . Do concussions get any better throughout the years? Is there anything else I could do to help him ? Should I take him to another specialist? Please answer this .

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Your husband needs detailed evaluation by a neurologist and neuropsychologist to exclude dementia. Some of the findings suggest that he may be developing dementia.

If needed, MRI and PET scan of brain should be done. He should be encouraged to take medicines for relief of his symptoms. He may require anti-anxiety and sleep inducing medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
