Suggest Medications For Loose Stool With Rectal Bleeding
my mother is 63 we found out last august she was a diabetic she has loose bowel movements daily she also has had rectal prolapse surgery before and last year her doctor checked and said everything looked fine. this morning she woke up and went to bathroom as normal, loose bowels but also her stool was extremely bloody and it has happened twice already. what should I do?

Understanding your concern. As per your query your mom is suffering from loose stool with rectal bleeding. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like :_
- Anal fissure (tear in the skin of the anus)
- electrolyte imbalance
- bacterial or viral infection
- food intolerance
- Hemorrhoids
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to drink plenty of water throughout the day , add fresh vegetables and fruits in your diet , avoid fried and spicy food and take some laxative like psyllium husk . Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood sample test , endoscopy of gastrointestinal track and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory and recommend heat therapy .

Blood in the stool can be due to benign causes such as hemorrhoids ,infection or diverticular disease (presence of diverticula in the colon) but it can also be due to more serious causes in some persons so she should consider going to her doctor for assessment.
Diverticular disease is not cancer related, it means that there are out pockets or pouches in the colon. These can sometimes become inflamed or infected.
She needs to consider seeing her doctor who will examine her abdomen and also do an anal and rectal examination.
She may need a stool sample sent to the lab and depending on examination and history findings, imaging may be needed.
