Suggest Medications For Diarrhea In Infants

my 3 and a half month old baby is down with diarrhoea for the past 5-6 days. We have given her one round of cefixime. She is also on Nutrolin- B. But she still has watery and mucousy movements upto 5 times a day. Is it wise to wait for another couple of days before giving her oflox syrup?

HI
Well come to HCM
Thank for asking, without confirmed case of bacterial infection it is not advisable to administered the antibiotic.
Passing the stool three to four time in day is normal one and it may not needs any treatment but try to change the diet, watery stool has to be taken care for dehydration else it is the self limiting condition, better not treat the condition with antibiotic unless it is the proved condition of infection, at the most probiotic like lactobacillus can be tried.
hope this information helps.
