Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 71 years old. I stopped taking Metoprolo ER (25MG) five days ago. My doctor said okay to the idea since my BP reading were good. (116/69) Now my pressure has gone up 127/74. And my pulse has increased (82-85) bpm. Is this typical and should I be worried. I also sometimes feel a little anxious .
Dear sir/madam, without medication both your blood pressure and pulse rate are within acceptable limits. So better is to monitor blood pressure and pulse rate regularly. If persistently found on higher side ( 140-150/90-100 ) then u can restart medication after consulting ur physician/cardiologist. General tips for bp control will be salt restricted diet, decrease fat intake, regular exercise, less stress etc. Kindly follow these. Hope u find this informative.
