Suggest Medication For Slightly Itchy Spots All Over Body

Hi 3 weeks ago i noticed red spots on my stomach and forearm, some are dry/flaky others are just red its not overly itchy or sore. It then spread to the top of my legs, chest, lowerback/bum and ankles. I went to my doctor 2 weeks ago he couldnt tell me what it was but gave me lotion snd anti-histemines i ve now finished the course and they are getting worse! Any advice?

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
The condition you described is called scabies. Its a kind of parasitic infestation caused by a mite.
Consult a dermatologist, who would prescribe you oral drugs like ivermectin and antihistaminics. Also, apply a cream containing 5% permethrin, below neck onwards to cover whole body followed by bath in warm water after 8 hours. Do not repeat the same unless advised. Ideally, everyone in the family should be examined and treated in similar way to prevent recurrence.
Launder clothes and beddings in warm water.
Maintain proper hygiene.
