Suggest Medication For Severe Throat Pain

Hello, I am having some fairly severe throat pain when I swallow with fairly swollen tonsils and painful lymph nodes on the neck. This has been going on for about 3 days with the painful swallowing, and the swollen tonsils have been going on for nearly 2 weeks. I visited a Dr. and they ruled out strep throat, but the pain has increased substantially over the last couple of days. I would like to know if/when I should visit the Dr. again or if a trip to the ER is needed, as the pain tonight is getting pretty severe.

Hi, thanks for your query. In my opinion, you might be having severe throat infection.
Since strep test is negative.Do not worry.
This can be treated with oral Pennicillin antibiotics+ anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac combination drugs twice daily for 3 to 5 days
Betadine gargling twice daily for 3 to 5 days.
If symptoms persists, then please consult with your doctor and get evaluated. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
